Being in Burundi during the dry season isn't a time when you would appear to need to check the weather for the day... Oh good, sunny again!
Yes, it's hot and dry, and the soil of the area is a very red tropical earth, which tends to stain everything it touches. As long as things are kept washed, they stay clean. Just down the road from our place is the local car and bike wash - it's always busy...
A morning spent with as many children as you could lose count of was the begtinning of the day. We were greeted by everyone as long lost friends, and we duly entertained as many as we could with various games including "Burundi Bulldog" and a Hokey Cokey!!
The morning ended with the inevitable game of football, anly on this occasion Matt couldn't conjure up a winning goal and we had to settle for a typical Englissh 0-0 draw!
After the morning we needed our bowl of hot soup to get us ready for the afternoon!!
At this point I have to confess that whilst the others went out to continue to do 'good works', Jon and I went native and assumed the role of local security - sitting in the sun enjoying a beer!
We were busted by Saint Helen on her return from Clinic - oops!!
That's it for now - look after Reigate for us!!
Sounds lovely - how was the beer?
