This is the blog for the team from St Mary’s Church, Reigate, who are going out to Burundi, principally to Gitega. We will be supporting the work in the medical centre and we are also going to be spending time with the boys and girls in the two safe homes for street children. This trip is part of the on-going relationship that we have with the project. We are partnering with www.emergepovertyfree.org and African Revival Ministries.

Check-in and security capers
Well getting through check-in and security at Heathrow was fun. Jon's passport wouldn't scan for a start. Then we discovered that guitars aren't classed as extras, so to get everything through Melody now has her main bag as hand luggage and the guitars are travelling to Burundi cling-filmed together. Through security, Helen had her bag extensively searched and Pete C? Well let's say he had to get down to his undies. No joke. Well, Pete wasn't laughing...
